Hi, I’m Tilly

It is the eccentricities and flamboyance of Australian native flora that I try to capture through vibrant colour, shape and form. I work mainly with acrylic paint and ink but have been known to dapple in watercolour too.

My style either involves overlaying solid base forms with detailed illustration to highlight each pod, petal, branch & leaf or bravely washing multiple base layers back to reveal skeleton-like botanical shadows.

Whilst my artwork is a nod to the past, and the exquisite beauty of traditional botanical studies it is also a contemporary adventure. I apply a modernist lens to my botanical backyard, encouraging the viewer to explore, investigate and seek out the extraordinary.

If you feel a sense of wonder and intrigue, as if in a botanical wonderland, then my art is doing its job.

I established my business ArTilly in 2019, and have since hosted a number of exhibitions across the Southern Highlands including @SHAC in 2021 and the Bowral Art Gallery in 2022.

I participate annually in the Southern Tablelands ArtsTrail and am always popping up to do local commissions.

Thanks for following my art-venture and feel free to contact me with any questions.

Tilly xx

By stylising such recognisable species, Myers seeks not to simply act as a dispassionate botanist who replicates the natural world, but rather works to capture the dynamism of the landscape.
